The occurrence is located along a 100 ft. wide flat beside the Ohio River a few miles south of Williamstown. The river lies directly to the east. The RR grade, with more maples, a few Robinia trees and Humulus japonicus lies directly to the west and is slightly elevated. An even higher narrow band of field is between the RR and Waverly Rd. To the west of Waverly Rd. is a steep forested upland. Along the river both upstream and down, the sides have been developed with camps. A lot of Humulus japonicus is to the north.;The area is flooded at least once a year. The tree cover is fairly homogeneous and the herb cover is slightly patchy between the Polygonum cuspidatum and the Leersia virginica.
